IBIS Agency was commissioned to design and build 3 luxury Villas in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. We were challenged to fit a building envelope that allowed cross ventilation for natural cooling in the tropics using locally sourced sustainable finishes in a Brutalism style, as less is always more in the tropics highlighting nature and the outdoors.
Deliverables: Architecture, Interior, Logo, Website, Brand Identity.

The north facing facade of each villa is the only side with glass windows facing north to allow proper daylighting saving on light energy. The villas were designed to be 25' in width to fit the site as well as to maximize cross ventilation, a necessity for its tropical environment to function without air-conditioning
Breaks in the facade allow interesting floor to ceiling breaks of vertical natural lighting into each room and more private spaces where needed. Double height loft ceiling was reserved for the central living and dining space.
